Superintendent Search Process

Dear Santiam Community:

After 25 years at the helm of Santiam Christian Schools, our Superintendent, Mr. Stan Baker, will be retiring at the end of the 2011-12 academic year.  In order to select the next leader of Santiam Christian, the board has approved a formal search process that includes:

• An 11 member search committee made up of three parents, three faculty, a founding board member and long-time supporter, and four current board members (see search committee roster)
• The hiring of a professional Christian search firm
• Seeking input from a broad variety of all major constituencies
• A project timeline that allows for a smooth transition for both Santiam Christian and the new superintendent (see the project timeline, including key milestones and related documents at the top of the page)

The board recognizes that this is likely the single most important decision that will be made affecting Santiam Christian’s future for many years to come and that facilitating a transparent, comprehensive and inclusive search process creates the best environment for discerning the will of God.  For the latest updates on this process, see the status report below.
