High School Activities 

Santiam Christian High School offers a wide variety of activities for its students, ranging from drama, to band, to the marketing club DECA. This activity is led by a committed adviser and offers unique opportunities for your child to expand his knowledge and experiences in many different areas. A Capella features 9th through 12th grade students. Led by twelfth year director Charles Perry, this is a great place to foster any talented singer. The choir is available for church services as well as special occasions. 

SC choir won 2nd in state for 2011. Numerous state titles.


 


DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management in high schools.  Led by Jay Barton, this club offers not only an amazing opportunity to learn, but also to have fun with friends.


 


Drama offers students a place to show off their talents as actors and actresses. Under the direction of Rolf McEwen, the Santiam Christian Players is a great opportunity. 

Four, full-scale drama productions each year (staged at the Majestic Theatre in Corvallis). Three of the four are for high school students. The other is a special production for seventh-ninth grade students, and is directed and mentored by high school seniors.


 


FFA is an integral component of Agricultural Education and develops premier leadership, personal growth, and career success for its members.  Led by Carrie Carson, this is an amazing opportunity for anyone interested in agriculture. One of only four private schools nationwide to offer FFA.


 


FIRST Robotics Team is an amazing way to learn about technology and robotics while also competing as a team against other schools. Led by Paul Carlson, this team of students gain valuable knowledge while coming together as a team.


 

High School Band builds on the foundation laid in the Junior High band, with more challenging music. Twelfth year director Charles Perry helps broaden each players understanding of musical form, music theory, music history and appreciation of cultural diversity in music.


 

Pep Band, led by Charles Perry, is a unique opportunity for students to play at home football and basketball games. It is a great way to build school spirit and learn challenging music at the same time.


 

Worship Teams is a way for students to come together and develop a band that leads worship in Santiam Christian's JH/HS Wednesday chapel services. Led by Chuck Perry, it is a great way for students to get involved in leading worship.


 

International Missions Trips – each year international trips are planned for students to minister to people around the world.


 

Sold Out – Street ministry team. Using drama, music, and no words, students convey the saving message of Christ in public venues around the Northwest and as far as NYC and Germany.


 

Yearbook – Student staff learn graphic design techniques, software, publishing, and photographic arts to produce a fantastic yearbook.


 

National Honor Society – High achieving scholars, participating in leadership and service.


 

Leadership – Student Council and Class Council. Leadership training.


 

Educational Travel – International travel opportunities, utilizing respected, well-know educational international travel services.


 

Rhythm In Blue – Select choral ensemble. Perform advanced vocal selections, featuring accompanied, a cappella, jazz, and classical music.


 

SC Boy Scout Troop 516 – 5th – 12th grade – Troop meets on the SC campus, with SC parent/Scout Master.


 

Wide variety of elective courses including: Woodworking, photography, art, foods, Animal/Vet Tech, electronics, programming, Cadet Teaching, and many more!
