Mixed Class – 10 students Cost: $22 (covers all supplies & materials).

Build and (safely) shoot a mini air cannon. This device will launch nearly anything that will fit in the barrel with nothing but compressed air. It can be "charged" with a bicycle pump or air compressor. It is "loads" of fun launching things like blocks of wood, potatoes, apples, marshmallows, rags, even water! Your summer won't be complete without one! All needed components are provided and no shop skills are required.

Want to learn how to read a tide table? Catch, clean, cook—and then eat crab? Then this BOYS ONLY mini session is for you. Join Mr. and Mrs. Lesko in Newport for three days (and two nights) of crabbing and hanging out at the coast. Cost of mini session includes the following-- meals: Monday dinner, Tuesday all meals, Wednesday breakfast, overnight accommodations, transportation, crab ring rental, and bait. Requirements: You must have an Oregon Shellfish License (please purchase ahead of time at Bi-Mart or other sporting goods store for $7.50) and bring money for lunch stop on the way and spending money for any personal purchases they want to make on the trip. Packing list and further details will be available at future mini session meeting. Payment will be required by May 4.

Time: Meet Mon. at 9am, Return Wed. at 4pm Location: Centennial Christian Church, Eugene, OR
Reach out to the Eugene homeless in this local missions trip. We will hit the streets of Eugene and Springfield passing out bags/cookies and talking/listening to the people we meet. Monday, we will hang out, serve dinner, and eat with teens at the Hosea Youth Ministry Center. On Tuesday, we will be making lunch/cookies to pass out to the homeless population under the bridges in Eugene, followed by a game night at the church in the evening. On Wednesday, we will put together necessity bags and distribute them to an impoverished area in Springfield. SC alum. Britni Steiling, who works for Hosea as an urban missionary, will be our guide. We will spend both nights at a local church. Bring a sack lunch on Monday, and spending money for any snacks you want to purchase and lunch before we head home.

Students will gather in Mr. Cook’s room every morning to view classic films and discuss what makes them classic. Students will view 2 films each day.

Eat at several “foreign” restaurants (including Nirvana Indian, Tarntip Thai, and Novak’s Hungarian restaurants) and visit some “foreign” stores. At school, we will discuss a number of areas relating to foreign customs, and we’ll view a number of videos related to foreign culture. We’ll try some unusual snacks and try to get a feel for the larger world. (This session is only for those who haven't previously been in it.)

We will be golfing 3 beautiful courses in Oregon ending at Diamond Woods. We will golf one course per day with contests on the last course. Prizes will be awarded to contest winners. Foursome pairings will be made up of 3 students and 1 teacher or adult.

If you are crazy about crafting or perhaps are “knot sew crafty” but would enjoy learning, then this is the mini for you! Join us for a "Make and Take" mini session where you will learn to create many beautiful handmade gifts and decorations that your friends and family will love and that you can afford. No experience necessary. Projects may include some sewing, paper crafting, beading, and more. Cost is $30 for supplies, plus spending money for lunch on Wednesday. Students should bring a sack lunch on Monday and Tuesday.

Use Photoshop to combine names and faces to print and mount the senior gallery. Some photos will need retouching using Photoshop. Learn Photoshop tricks to improve or create pictures.

Learn how to camp and survive without running water, while fishing and scavenging off the land. Enjoy outdoor competitions and edible events. Students need to supply own fishing license, camp food, and camping gear (tent, sleeping bag, etc).

For Juniors Only: Join us as we visit and explore universities in Oregon. This mini session will include guided campus tours as well as discussions with the Petersons on the purpose, pitfalls, and value of college education. We will visit between 4-6 college campuses (including: NW Christian, University of Oregon, Willamette University, Corban University, Portland State University, and George Fox University).

We will be working in the yearbook lab to begin the planning and designing of the yearbook for next year. We will be assigning pages and beginning to design layouts. We will also take time to get familiar with the cameras and computer programs which will be used to create the yearbook as well as doing some teambuilding activities.
